Benzino Speaks Out for First Time Since Getting Shot by His Nephew: ‘Blood Doesn’t Mean It’s Love’ [Photos + Video]

Benzino is speaking for the first time since being shot on Friday and  — he states he’s not upset at the shooter being his nephew. Benzino,  real name “Raymond Scott” told Boston news & TMZ that he’s upset the shooting happened on the way to his mother’s funeral. “My mother was good, my mother wasn’t about this,” Benzino said, in an interview from his South Shore Hospital bed. As reported, Benzino’s nephew Gai Scott, 36, was arrested in connection to the gunfire that erupted as the funeral procession moved towards St. Peter’s Church in Plymouth, Mass. “Once I started getting to the beginning of the procession, gun shots, boom, boom, boom,” he continued. He also described the moment he got struck with the bullet. “I took a deep breath just to see if it was in my chest, but it wasn’t. I didn’t feel no pain, so I maneuvered the car jumped out the car and I’m running down the middle of the street to all the other cars in the procession throwing my hands up like I need help.” It as at that point was picked up by another relative and taken to a nearby police station before being taken to the hospital.
